Living the American Dream

Born in Michoacán, Mexico at the turn of the 19th century, Esteban Rios (The Chef) came to the United States with his brothers in search of the "American Dream". Esteban and his brothers found work as cooks at the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, Texas. While working at the Adolphus, the brothers were allowed to bring home leftover food, which helped them feed their families. Grateful for the food given to them, Esteban and his brothers would mix and match the leftovers utilizing their creativity while creating a different style of Mexican food. In the beginning, Esteban started out washing potatoes and through time and persistence Esteban became an influential chef adding flair to traditional Mexican dishes. Esteban Rios mastered the art of cooking and in his own unique way, recreated traditional Mexican recipes with his Texas flair. At Esteban's, our food is our legacy and we proudly serve you homemade family recipes from past generations. We are honored to welcome you and your family to our casa.

Esteban's Restaurante
Owner Esteban Rios delivers authentic Mexican fare (he's from Michoacán) smack in the middle of fajita-infested suburbia, aka Garland's Firewheel Town Center. Though Rios' Aztec specialties delight, it's the brisket and roasted-almond-stuffed chiles relleno (a Wednesday night special) that warms our queso-covered hearts the most.
